For our client, an international live entertainment company, we are looking for a:
Head of Development (Mid-level with leadership ambition)
Founded over two decades ago, our client is a leading player in the live entertainment industry, producing world-class musicals across multiple markets. With offices and theaters across Europe, their productions include globally renowned titles as well as in-house developed performances. Their digital division is responsible for Owned.com, the primary digital ticket sales platform for their productions.
In response to growing demand and a strategic shift towards in-house ticket sales management, the company is forming a new global development team at its headquarters in Amsterdam. This team will take full control of the websites and ticketing platforms across multiple countries, replacing an external agency. The technology department has already grown from 15 to 40 employees and continues to expand.
As the new Head of Development, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping this next chapter. You’ll lead a cross-functional development team, collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business, and take ownership of the platform’s technical evolution. This role is perfect for an experienced developer or technical lead with 3+ years of experience, solid leadership skills, and the drive to grow into a senior leadership role.
The profile of the Head of Development:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack development or technical leadership roles and experience mentoring or guiding other developers – and the ambition to grow further as a leader.

Strong technical background in full-stack development, web technologies, and modern architectures.

Knowledge of Drupal, JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular), and backend languages (PHP, Node.js, Python).

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Strong architectural understanding, including microservices, API design, and system scalability.

Ability to translate business strategy into technical solutions effectively.

Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.

Experience in e-commerce, ticketing, or live entertainment platforms is a plus.

English-speaking candidates are welcome, but relocation is not provided. Candidates must already reside within commuting distance in the Netherlands.

Salary up to €6500 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week).
